A Prescription for Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling that can affect our lives in many ways. It can cause us to feel overwhelmed, out of control, and unable to cope with the demands of life. Thankfully, the Bible provides us with clear guidance on how to manage anxiety. In 1 Peter 5:6-10, we learn how to overcome anxiety and find peace in difficult times.

  1. Humility: We must humble ourselves before God (1 Peter 5:6) and trust that He is always in control.
  2. Cast your cares: We must cast our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7) and know that He will take care of us.
  3. Be sober: We must stay sober and alert (1 Peter 5:8) so that we can recognize the signs of anxiety and address it head-on.
  4. Resist the devil: We must resist the devil (1 Peter 5:9) and remember that he is the source of all anxiety and fear.
  5. Draw near to God: We must draw near to God (1 Peter 5:10) and find comfort in His loving presence.

We can find peace and freedom from anxiety when we humble ourselves before God, cast our cares upon Him, stay sober and alert, resist the devil, and draw near to God. When we do these things, we can find the strength and courage to face our fears and live confidently in the knowledge that God is always with us.

Remember... You can Overcome Anxiety with the Word of God!
