Devoted: Rooted in Faith, Unshaken in Purpose

As we step into this new year, God is calling us to a higher level of commitment, a deeper level of faith, and an unshakable connection to Him. The word God has placed in my heart for this year is DEVOTED.

To be devoted means more than just believing—it means living fully committed to the things of God. It means having a faith that is unwavering, a love for God that is unshaken, and a heart that is fully surrendered to His will.

A Devoted Life is a Rooted Life

"They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."Acts 2:42 (NASB)

The early church was devoted—they didn’t follow Jesus casually, but with their whole hearts. They were committed to learning, worshiping, praying, and growing together. That’s the kind of devotion God is calling us to in 2025!

Devotion is not a one-time decision—it’s a daily commitment. It’s waking up every morning saying, “Lord, I am Yours. Use me. Grow me. Shape me.” It’s showing up in worship, studying the Word, and being faithful in our calling.

"A tree doesn’t grow strong by accident—it grows strong because its roots are devoted to the soil that feeds it."

That’s why devotion matters. The more we are devoted to God, the deeper our roots grow. The deeper our roots grow, the stronger our faith becomes.

How Devotion Helps Us Go Deep! Grow Deep! Stay Rooted!

1. Devotion Helps Us GO DEEP in Our Faith

Being devoted means we don’t just read the Word—we live the Word! When we are devoted to prayer, study, and obedience, our relationship with God deepens beyond surface-level faith.

➡️ Action Step: Set a goal this year to read and reflect on Scripture daily, letting the Word transform you from the inside out.

2. Devotion Helps Us GROW DEEP in God’s Presence

A devoted heart stays connected to God. When we are faithful in prayer, worship, and service, we grow stronger in our walk with Him. A tree with deep roots doesn’t fear the storm, because it is anchored in the soil.

➡️ Action Step: Make a commitment to intentional worship—whether at church, in your home, or during your quiet time.

3. Devotion Helps Us STAY ROOTED in Virtue

Virtue doesn’t happen overnight—it’s cultivated through consistent devotion. Love, patience, humility, and faithfulness all grow in a heart that is rooted in Christ. When we stay devoted, we stay spiritually strong, no matter what comes our way.

➡️ Action Step: Choose one virtue to focus on each month, asking God to strengthen that quality in your life.

This Year, Let’s Be Fully Devoted!

Greater Glory, this is our year to be steadfast, immovable, and unshaken in our devotion to God. We are not just attending church—we are becoming the church. We are not just reading Scripture—we are living the Word. We are not just praising in good times—we are trusting God in every season!

This is the year we declare:
🔥 “Lord, I am devoted to You!”
🔥 “I will seek You first in all things!”
🔥 “I will stay rooted, unshaken, and strong in my faith!”

Let’s Go Deep! Grow Deep! Stay Rooted!

Welcome to 2025—A Year to Be Rooted in Virtue!

"Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NASB)

Church family, as we step into this new year, we do so with faith, expectation, and a firm foundation in God’s Word. 2025 is not just another year—it is a divine invitation to be transformed from the inside out! This year, we are committing ourselves to becoming deeply rooted in virtue, allowing the character of Christ to take hold of our hearts, guide our actions, and shape our lives.

A tree with deep roots is unshaken by the winds, nourished by the water, and constantly growing—this is who we are called to be in Christ! Through every season, we will stand firm, drawing strength from God’s presence, flourishing even in difficult times.

A Year of Spiritual Practice and Growth

Each month, we will cultivate a different virtue, focusing on the qualities that reflect God’s presence in our lives:
❤️ Love – Because His love is our foundation.
Patience – Because waiting on the Lord is never wasted.
🤲🏽 Kindness – Because the world needs more of Christ’s gentleness.
🙏🏽 Humility – Because we serve best when we serve with a humble heart.
💙 Compassion – Because Jesus showed us how to care deeply for others.
🕊️ Forgiveness – Because we have been forgiven much.
🔥 Faithfulness – Because we walk by faith, not by sight.
🎉 Joy – Because true joy comes from the Lord.
🌱 Gentleness – Because strength is found in a gentle spirit.
☮️ Peace – Because God’s peace surpasses all understanding.
🚦 Self-Control – Because discipline strengthens our walk with Christ.
🙌🏾 Gratitude – Because a thankful heart is a blessed heart.

Our Theme: "Rooted in Virtue: A Year of Spiritual Practice"

This is more than just a theme—it is a call to action. God is inviting us to grow, to stretch, to deepen our spiritual walk. When we go deep in the Word, grow deep in faith, and stay rooted in Christ, our lives become a testimony of His goodness. This is the year we become stronger disciples, bolder believers, and unwavering in our commitment to living out God’s truth!

Get Ready to Dig Deep!

I encourage you to engage fully this year—join Bible studies, attend services with expectation, and allow these virtues to take root in your life. Whether in your home, your workplace, or your community, let God’s virtues shine through you.

No matter what comes our way in 2025, we will not be shaken—because we are firmly planted in Him.

Let’s Go Deep! Grow Deep! Stay Rooted!
