When You Serve Others

Have you ever felt like you’re spinning your wheels in life? Do you feel like you’re not sure of your purpose? Serving others can help you focus on your purpose.

The Bible teaches us that “the greatest of you shall be your servant.” (Matthew 23:11 NASB) Serving others is not about giving up your own goals and dreams. It’s about finding ways to help others achieve their goals and dreams in addition to your own. When you take the time to serve others, you’re investing in them and the future.

Serving others is also a great way to find clarity. When you’re focused on helping others, you’re forced to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. You’re able to put aside your own worries and focus on the needs of others. You’re able to see the bigger purpose behind your actions and the actions of others. You’re able to find clarity and direction in your own life.

When you’re serving others, you’re also able to practice gratitude. You’re able to take the time to appreciate the little things and be thankful for the opportunities you have. This helps you to stay focused on the good and to be less focused on the negative.

Serving others is not only a great way to find clarity and focus on your purpose, but it also helps you to build relationships. When you’re serving others, you’re connecting with them on a deeper level. You’re able to build relationships and form meaningful connections.

When you’re serving others, you’re also able to build your own character. You’re able to practice humility, patience, and kindness. You’re able to learn how to be selfless and how to put others before yourself. All of these qualities are essential for living a life of purpose and meaning.

Serving others is an essential part of living a life of purpose. When you take the time to serve others, you’re able to find clarity and focus on your purpose. You’re able to build relationships and practice humility. You’re able to appreciate the little things and be thankful for the opportunities you have. Serving others is a great way to find your purpose and focus on living a life of meaning.

Helping and Loving Others

We all have a God given purpose in life – something we are meant to do or achieve. But sometimes it can be hard to focus on that purpose, when we are busy with our day-to-day lives. That’s why it’s important to remember that loving others can help us stay on track and focus on our purpose.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 22:38-39 (NASB): “This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” This simple but powerful commandment reminds us that loving others is the key to living our best lives.

When we take the time to truly love and care for our neighbor, we are reminded of our own humanity and how we all have a part to play in this world. We can be more understanding and compassionate, which in turn helps us stay on track with our purpose.

Helping and loving others also brings joy into our lives. When we take the time to help out a friend in need, donate to a worthy cause, or even just smile at a stranger, we can feel a sense of joy and satisfaction that we’re doing something to make the world a better place. It’s a reminder that we are all connected, and that we should do our part to make the world a better place for everyone.

So the next time you’re feeling lost or overwhelmed, remember that helping and loving others can help you stay focused on your purpose. It will not only bring joy into your life, but it will also help you stay on track and remind you of the importance of your mission.

A Chosen People - Focused on Our Purpose

Focusing on your purpose is a very important part of life. In 1 Peter 2:9-10 which says, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." It reminds us that God has chosen us to be His people and to proclaim His excellencies. This is our purpose - to be a witness of God's goodness and mercy to others. We have been given a special opportunity to glorify God and share His love with those around us.

When we focus on our purpose, we are more likely to serve God faithfully and to be a light in the darkness. We will be more diligent in our prayer life and be more intentional in our witness. We will be more willing to share our faith with others and be a living example of Christ's message of love and grace.

Focusing on our purpose also gives us hope and purpose in life. We can be assured that even though we may not always understand why things happen, God is in control and He has a plan for us. We can be confident that we are part of something bigger and that our lives have meaning and purpose.

So, focus on your purpose and let God use you to bring His light into the darkness. May He be glorified in all that you do!

Effective in Our Service

Matthew 25:14-15 (NASB) says, "For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey." It is an excellent reminder that we are all called to use our talents to serve God’s purpose. The parable of the talents is a reminder that the gifts and abilities we have been given are to be used for God’s glory. When we use our talents to serve God’s purpose, we can expect to receive a reward.

By focusing on our purpose, we are able to be more effective in our service to God. It is easy to get distracted and become sidetracked by other activities and people. However, when we stay focused on our purpose, we can be sure that all of our efforts will be used for God’s glory.

The parable of the talents also teaches us to have faith in God’s plan. When the master in the parable entrusts his servants with different amounts of talents, he does so knowing that each servant will use the gifts according to his own ability. We can have faith that God will do the same for us. He will give us the gifts and abilities that are needed to accomplish His will.

Finally, the parable of the talents reminds us to use our gifts and abilities to the best of our ability. Each servant was given a different amount of talents, but each was expected to use the talents to the best of their ability. We too should use the gifts and abilities we have been given to the best of our ability. We can trust that God will honor our efforts as long as we strive to do His will.

Matthew 25:14-15 is a reminder that we are all called to use our talents to serve God’s purpose. By focusing on our purpose, having faith in God’s plan, and using our gifts and abilities to the best of our ability, we can be sure that all of our efforts will be used for God’s glory.

Surrender to God's Purpose

When we think of surrender, we often think of giving something up, but surrendering to the purpose that God has for us is actually an opportunity to gain something far greater than anything we could ever imagine. In Psalm 57:2 (NLT), it says, “I will cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.” We see that crying out to God is the first step in discovering His purpose.

When we surrender, we open ourselves up to the possibility of a greater calling and a closer walk with God. God knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper and not harm us (Jeremiah 29:11). By surrendering to His purpose, we place our trust in Him and allow Him to work through us. We can find comfort in His promises that all things will work together for our good (Romans 8:28).

This surrender does not mean that we give up all control, but instead that we are open to whatever God has in store. As we surrender, we should be mindful of our thoughts and actions. We need to be attentive to the Holy Spirit and His leading. We should not be afraid to take risks, ask questions, and seek out answers.

When we surrender to God’s purpose, we are not just trusting in Him, we are also trusting in His plan for us. We should remember that His plans are always good and that He will never let us down. By surrendering to God’s purpose, we can witness firsthand the power and glory of God’s will in our lives.

Focusing on Your Purpose in God

I am so excited to embark on this journey of Focusing on Your Purpose in God @ggbc-edmond.

Over the next month, I'm focusing on the purpose God has for our lives. I truly believe that each of us has a unique purpose in life, and it is our job to discover what that is and how it can be fulfilled.

My goal is to explore the various ways that we can discover God’s purpose for our lives. I will be talking about spiritual practices, self-reflection, prayer, and other areas that can help us to connect with our deeper selves and to understand our purpose in life.

I hope that this blog can be a place of encouragement, inspiration, and growth for all of us. It is my prayer that by the end of this month, each of us will have a better understanding of the purpose that God has for our lives.

Thank you for joining me on this journey! Let’s get started!
